I am a pilgrim, and a stranger,
Traveling through this barren land.
I've got a home in that yonder city, Oh God,
And it's out (oh Lord and it's out) the sight of man.
I have a father, and a mother,
Sister and brother, gone on before.
Bye and bye I'm going to meet them, Oh God,
Where we'll dwell (oh Lord where we'll dwell), forever more.
Well, I have trials and tribulations;
I have trouble on every hand.
But I've started for that city, Oh God,
And, I'm doin' (oh Lord and I'm doin') the best I can.
